Do criminal records get removed when you live in the UK?
It says on this link that a serious offense will get removed after 20 years :/

It will never be completely removed. It will always stay on your file.
For minor offences it is 7 years.
After the period you do not need to mention it when applying for jobs, unless the job is working with vulnerable people – like children and the elderly
