Criminal Record, but would like to go to USA on holiday!?
Hello, 5 years ago, I stupidly stole some money from the till at work, I got cuaght and was convicted of theft and made to pay a fine, I was 18 at the time, so now have a record.
I would like to take my Dad to Washington DC for a holiday in May 2010, but I was wondering would I have to apply for a Visa, I have checked on the US embassy website and, it says that there are loads of forms you have to fill out and it looks quite complicated.
As it was over 5 years ago, do you think that would be a problem? Any advice gratefully received?

Since January 12 UK citizens have to fill in a form on line called ESTA to be allowed to travel.
It only asks for two or more offences where the total sentence was over five years so I think you should be fine.
It costs nothing to do so you may as well go online and see if you are accepted.
It will not guarantee you entry as this will be at the discretion of the immigration officer when you arrive.
