naturalization records us

I have filed for naturalization process and I’ve been waiting for over 1.5 years. What can I do?
I have lived in the US for over 20 years as a legal resident. I am also a vetran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served in the US Army for 4 years. I have no criminal records and is in good standings with the IRS. Why is the background check taking so long? Does my vetran status helping avoid some of the red-tape?
Sorry to say, but it does take a while, and now with everyone jumping through their rear ends to try to get millions of illegal immigrants legal status, it’ll take even longer for those of you doing it the right way.
I paid for my ex mother-in-law’s citizenship and it took about two years to go through. She was 75 years old and had been in this country legally for over 35 years as the spouse/widow of an American soldier.
Keep the faith brother, be patient and thank you for serving our country. If you don’t hear something soon, contact your congressman with a copy of your application and a copy of your DD-214 and ask if he can intervene on your behalf. That to me would be a lot more beneficial to this country than trying to push the Z-Visa program.
